William Parr (14 augustus 1513 – 28 oktober 1571) was een Engels politicus. Hij was een zoon van sir Thomas Parr en Maud Greene, en de broer van Catharina Parr, de zesde vrouw van Hendrik VIII.

In 1539 werd Parr beleend met de titel baron Parr of Kendal, in 1543 kwam daar de titel markies van Essex bij en in 1547 markies van Northampton bij. Na de troonsbestijging van Maria I in 1553 werden deze titels hem ontnomen, maar in 1559 werd hij in zijn titels hersteld door Elizabeth I.

Parr was drie maal gehuwd. Op 9 februari 1526 huwde hij met Anne Bourchier (1512 – 28 januari 1571), dochter van Henry Bourchier, 2e graaf van Essex. In 1543 scheidden zij.
Voor de tweede keer trouwde hij in 1548 met Elizabeth Brooke (12 juni 1526 – Londen 2 maart 1585), dochter van George Brooke, 4e baron Cobham.
Twee maanden voor zijn dood huwde hij met de Zweedse Helena Snakenborg (1549 – 1 april 1635).

William Parr stierf in 1571 en werd begraven in Warwick.

Elisabeth Brooke (25 June 1526 – 2 April 1565) was an English courtier and noblewoman. She was the eldest daughter of George Brooke, 9th Baron Cobham of Kent and Anne Braye. Her relationship with William Parr, 1st Marquess of Northampton, Katherine Parr's brother, would shape the politics of England for many years to come. As the Marchioness of Northampton, Elisabeth performed much of a queen’s role during the reign of Edward VI. Her husband was instrumental in putting Lady Jane Grey on the throne. When Mary I was proclaimed queen, she imprisoned the Marquess in the Tower and stripped him of all his titles. Her first cousin, Thomas Wyatt the Younger, was the leader of a rebellion against Queen Mary known as Wyatt's Rebellion. In the reign of Elizabeth, she became one of the most influential courtiers again.

Elisabeth was described as vivacious, kind and one of the most beautiful women at court.

Anne Bourchier (1517 – 28 January 1571) was the suo jure 7th Baroness Bourchier, suo jure Lady Lovayne, and Baroness Parr of Kendal. She was the first wife of William Parr, 1st Marquess of Northampton, Earl of Essex, and the sister-in-law of Katherine Parr, the sixth wife of Henry VIII of England.

She created a scandal in 1541 when she deserted her husband to elope with her lover, John Lyngfield (John Hunt or Huntley), the prior of St. James's Church, Tanbridge, Surrey, by whom she would have several illegitimate children. In 1543, Lord Parr obtained an Act of Parliament repudiating Anne and nullifying their marriage.

Elin Ulfsdotter Snakenborg, Marchioness of Northampton, also known as Helena, and Helena the Red for her red hair, (1548/1549 – 10 April 1635) was a Swedish-born noblewoman, Maid of Honour of Queen Elizabeth I of England, and Marchioness of Northampton by her marriage to William Parr, 1st Marquess of Northampton.
